Woolly Mammoths Aren’t Even This Powerful!!!

You know what has always been fun to me? Picking something out and just staring at it for a long time. That’s not meant to be weird. Think about it. Let’s say I decide to stare at a chalkboard for a really long time. I sit there, and my mind starts to wander. Who came up with such an idea? Who thought of using chalk to make marks on a green board? How did they become so popular? The questions are literally endless. So naturally, when I just randomly started staring at the monitor stationed in my room for a few minutes, I crafted the most perfect idea in the history of awesome ideas (even better than Newtonian Mechanics, I swear!). Computers!!
That’s right! I’ll bet that took you as a surprise since I literally told you I was staring at a monitor not two sentences ago! Anyway, computers are fascinating to me. How in the world did we go from a room of equipment making up one computer to a 10-inch laptop that you can literally take anywhere? I mean seriously, we literally have control of a computer more powerful than the one that sent Astronauts to the moon, isn’t that insane!!! The best part is, it has only been a few decades of having personal computers, hell, we used to only be able to write letters and numbers on a computer now look at us.
Technology has improved at an exponential rate, the catalyst being the ability to design and code very quickly on a computer. With the power of 10,000 gods literally at your fingertips, anything is possible, or at least can be possible as time progresses (please don’t say you can fly and then jump off a building, history has proven that doesn’t work). If you can think it, you can do it. Don’t believe me? Think back to a time when we didn’t have modern day tech. Did anyone really believe we would land on the moon in the 1800’s? NO! Did anyone know that one day we would be able to be in touch with anyone in the world in a fraction of a second? Absolutely not! Computers have changed the way not only we view the world, but also how we act and work. It is very hard to find a job in modern day times where you don’t need a computer or access to the internet to complete job requirements to a satisfactory level.
Computers are the forefront of change and in my paradigm shift essay I plan to hunker down on one of these changes and really hone in on everything from the effects on the world to how people view or viewed the change. I am not quite sure on how broad I want to go because there are pretty much endless changes in computers I could talk about. However, I feel that the easiest shift to identify would be starting at the beginning and discussing the transformation from a giant room full of random machines to a “normal” sized desktop or laptop.
If anyone else is still searching for a topic, I highly suggest the tactic of staring randomly at something and asking yourself questions about it. It works all the time for me except when I am not paying attention to what is being said around me and wind up asking something that has already be answered. However, do not be deterred as this is a very rare occurrence and my method will definitely benefit you in the long run!
Thanks for listening in on today’s post and I hope to see all your beautiful faces in class, not tomorrow (because class has been cancelled and I will probably lose half a kidney due to how many tears that I will shed), but MONDAY WOOT WOOT!
Goodnight y’all!
